This little book evoked a range of feelings in me – anger, frustration, sadness, but also pride and hope.
The Islamic Foundation in Slovakia approached Muslim women with a request for an interview in which they would express THEIR opinion – how they are perceived by society, what feelings they experience when they walk in hijab on Slovak streets, what is their life story and whether they feel welcome in Slovakia.
The answers were varied and at times very fascinating, plus the beautiful graphics only added to the good impression.
The unknown usually makes us prejudiced and afraid. Unfortunately, this is also the case in our Slovakia. This culture may be distant to us, but first of all we have to remember that they are people too, women, and that is what unites us. The point of this book is to bridge these preconceptions, and in my opinion it has fulfilled its purpose. Among other things, it taught me the difference between the hijab, the niqab and the burqa. We in Europe tend to see this veiling as a form of oppression. In some countries, unfortunately, this is the way it works, but in others Muslim women are free to choose what they wear.
“Women who voluntarily choose to cover up usually argue that they don’t want to be perceived by those around them based on their physical appearance, but on their mental and spiritual qualities.” And I find this incredibly appealing, especially when I compare it to our culture – captivating the neighborhood with photos that reveal everything. It makes me sad. And we allow ourselves to insult Muslim women and claim they are uneducated.

My first translation of book 🙂
Human design is considered to be a new science of self-knowledge created by the synthesis of astrology, Kabbalah, the I Ching, the chakra system and quantum physics. According to this, design divides people into five types, and the book describes each type in detail.
By figuring out which type you belong to, the design “promises” that you will learn to distinguish between the energy you create and the energy you absorb from the outside world. This will enable you to make decisions that are in line with your true self.
