Welcome to my website.
I am Bibiána Lieskovanová and I studied translation and interpreting. I finished my studies in 2022 at the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra. I translate and interpret from English and Russian. I did a two-month language internship in Moscow, which allowed me to improve my Russian and get to know the Russian culture and people better.
I really found myself in my profession. During school, I interned for various translation agencies, thanks to which I learned how to work in a team, to meet the deadline for delivering translation orders and to pay attention to quality. In 2022, I participated as an interpreter in the doctoral conference Tradition and Innovation in Translation Research, organized by my alma mater.
What types of texts do I translate?
I translate different types of texts, I am open to every opportunity. My current focus is mainly on professional texts, such as translation of more general medical texts, translation of manuals, tutorials, instructions, translation of websites, media texts, etc.
Among other things, I also proofread theses (seminar paper, bachelor thesis, diploma thesis, etc.) and translate abstracts.
I do a lot of subtitling and translation of dubbing scripts. In 2021, 2022 and 2023 I contributed my subtitle translations for the One World Festival. I am currently working on the translation of dubbing scripts for several documentary series and children’s cartoons.
I’m a huge bookworm who not only reads, but also translates. In 2022, my first book translation was published and others followed. You can find out more about my translation (and book) experience so far HERE.
Since translating is primarily a sedentary job, I try to compensate for that with my hobbies – practicing yoga, hiking, travelling and photographing. In addition, I love to read books, deepen my language skills, and learn foreign languages. 🙂
